Proposal Writer and Estimator

Twin Peaks, Inc. is currently seeking to hire a full-time proposal writer and estimator to join our Special Inspections and Construction Materials Testing Laboratory team.

Job Description:

  • Craft comprehensive proposals that address clients’ needs and comply with
    industry standards
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients and identify business opportunities in the public and private construction marketplace i.e. governmental agency websites
  • Work with staff to ensure compliance with projects/clients’ requirements and fulfill
    all project needs timely and within the budget
  • Adhere to the established TPI business development protocol
  • Market TPI through submitting proposals, credentials, and qualifications to clients via effective means, i.e., meetings, and attending business conferences
  • Participate in negotiations; facilitate the signing of clients’ contracts; develop proposals that address the client’s needs; and track and record activity with prospective clients
  • Maintain knowledge of market conditions, and understand Industry trends, challenges, and competition
  • Work with TPI leadership, the CEO, and the Director of Business Development to help establish the company’s long-term strategic plans and goals
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of TPI staff skills and capabilities

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of various inspections for DOB, MTA, DDC, DEP, and DOT projects,(e.g. structural steel bolting and welding; mechanical; smoke control; heating; sprinklers; standpipes; chimneys; masonry; energy compliance; concrete placement; and all other TR1 and TR8 inspections)
  • Coordinate with clients’ representatives, Engineer/Architect of record, expediters, consultants, and general contractors for all special inspection requirements
  • Resolve technical issues and NCRs; review submittals and responses to RFI’s and
    RFQ’s
  • Understanding industry best practices for the lifecycle of pursuits, including but not limited to the early identification of opportunities, ‘go-no go’, and all associated analyses and justification of taken decisions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience in desktop publishing including Adobe Creative Suite
  • Previous experience in the A/E industry is strongly desired Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others with a positive attitude and high level of commitment
  • Experience with social media and capable of sharing content regularly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a schedule-driven environment
  • Strong IT, communication, and writing skills
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering-related field, Business and/or Marketing
  • Self-motivated and positive team player
  • 3+ years of proven experiences in construction/engineering related field.
