Professional Mechanical Engineer
Experience: 5 years minimum

Twin Peaks, Inc. is hiring a full-time Professional Mechanical Engineer to join our Special Inspection & Construction Material Testing Laboratory team in NYC.

Job Description:

The following will be some of the tasks, but will not be limitedto:
• Reviewing special inspection reports, signing, and sealing, per the RCNY 101-06 requirements
• Joining the team of project managers and supervising special inspectors
• Providing TR1 and TR8 inspection status/analysis; project tracking to ensure the scope of TR1 and TR8 are inspected with the applicable codes and project specification requirements
• Reviewing approved as-built energy analysis and confirming it matches what was installed in the job before signing off EN2 forms
• Preparing inspection estimates
• Reviewing DOB plans against inspection records to ensure the scope of work is consistent with the approved design; performing various inspections for DOB, Transit Authority, LIRR, DDC, DEP, and DOT projects (e.g. mechanical, smoke control, heating, sprinklers, standpipes, chimneys, energy, and all other TR1 and TR8 inspections)
• Coordinating with clients’ representatives, engineers, architects of record, expediters, and general contractors for all special inspection requirements; resolving technical issues; resolving NCRs; and reviewing submittals and RFIs
• Performing evaluations and providing training/mentorship to field technicians and inspectors to meet project requirements and all applicable code requirements
• Attending pre-construction meetings and reviewing progress meetings, as well as TCO meetings, as per client’s request

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with NYS PE License
• ICC Commercial Mechanical Inspector Certification
• Minimum 2 years of MEP & Fire Protection Design experience
• Minimum 2 years of Special Inspection experience with MEP, Fire Protection, and Energy Code compliance inspections
• Knowledge of NY and NJ Building Construction Codes & Standards
• Must have approved/accepted work authorization

Preferable but not required:

• ICC Structural Steel Welding Certified Inspector or AWS Welding Certified Inspector Certificate
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Project Management of Special Inspections or
• Minimum 2 years of experience in performing Special Inspections of Structural Steel
