Laboratory Director

Mr. Misbah Mirza, P.E. has an M.S. in Civil Engineering from Brooklyn Polytechnic University. He has over 30 years of experience in Material Testing, Construction Oversight, and Structural Design. As the Laboratory Director at Twin Peaks Inc., Misbah is responsible for overseeing all Materials Testing in accordance with applicable ASTM and AASHTO guidelines. He is also responsible for the Laboratory accreditation by AASHTO, AMRL, and all NYC Department of Buildings’ requirements. Misbah also oversees the lab’s participation in AASHTO’s Proficiency Sampling Program (PSP) and Laboratory Assessment Program (LAP). Misbah has conducted successful concrete investigation works for many public and private jobs such as, determining the presence of cold joints, determining whether existing concrete is normal weight or light weight, determining location, spacing, and size of rebars in existing concrete structures, etc.

 

Misbah has conducted Special Inspections of public and private buildings, stadiums, airports, subway infrastructure, and other civil structures. Misbah also conducts other special inspections such as Tenant
Protection Plan Compliance Inspection and overseeing Vibration/ Optical/ Crack monitoring programs. He
served as the Regional Quality Control Engineer for NY State DOT’s, NYC Region. He established and managed two Units of NYSDOT and oversaw major bridge rehabilitation projects including, the $150 million Kew Gardens Interchange 1 project. He also served as a Senior Environmental Engineer for the NYSDEC.
